A trilingual product catalogue for PT Oceania Prima Sejati, a shipyard equipment supplier in Batam. Buyers browse by supply range, build a quote list with quantities and notes, and send the whole list as one WhatsApp message.
Context
PT Oceania Prima Sejati supplies shipyard equipment across Indonesia, specialising in welding systems, hull outfittings, marine machinery and electrical tools for the maritime, shipbuilding and offshore industries. Its workshop is in Tanjung Uncang, on Batam's shipbuilding belt, among the yards it supplies. The company states that it covers eight supply ranges, from welding consumables to marine cable and treatment plants. Its sales team works mainly through phone and WhatsApp.
The challenge
Shipyard procurement rarely ends in an online payment. Buyers need a price and a lead time for a specific list of parts, often with a grade or size attached, and they ask for it from a phone on site. A standard online shop with a cart and checkout would not match how these orders are actually placed. The catalogue also had to serve Indonesian, English and Chinese speaking buyers working in Batam's yards.
- Quote list instead of a checkout
- WhatsApp as the ordering channel
- Browse by supply range
- Three languages for yard buyers
- Workshop location as a selling point

Approach
How it came together.
- 01
Organised the catalogue by supply range
Products are filed under supply ranges such as hull outfittings, welding equipment, shipyard equipment and consumables, each with its own page. Every range shows its English name with the Indonesian term underneath, so either reader recognises it.
- 02
Replaced the cart with a quote list
Each product card has an Add to quote button, and a Quote list link stays in the header. Buyers set quantities and add a note for a size or grade, which matches how yard orders are specified.
- 03
Sent the finished list as one WhatsApp message
Instead of a checkout, the quote list is sent as a single WhatsApp message, and the team replies with a price and a lead time. The site explains this in three numbered steps so the flow is clear before anyone starts.
- 04
Labelled the catalogue figures honestly
The catalogue-at-a-glance section counts products, ranges and categories, with a line stating these are catalogue counts and not sales figures. It gives buyers a sense of scope without implying volume.
- 05
Added Indonesian and Chinese alongside English
An EN, ID and 中文 switch sits in the header. Batam's yards bring together local, English speaking and Chinese speaking buyers, so all three languages are one tap away.
- 06
Used the workshop's location as an argument
A dedicated section places the workshop in Tanjung Uncang, next to the yards it supplies, and the How We Work list explains why that shortens delivery. A floating WhatsApp button stays on screen on mobile.

Matching the ordering channel buyers already use mattered more than adding a checkout.
